Minister Of Finance: Value Of 4,247 Projects Funded By State Sharia Securities Reaches IDR 175.38 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the total value of 4,247 projects financed from State Sharia Securities (SBSN) or state sukuk was Rp. 175.38 trillion.

"Various strategic infrastructure projects that can be seen and benefited by the community have been generated from the financing of the SBSN project," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani as quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 2.

Sri Mulyani said that the 4,247 projects built through financing from SBSN were spread across various parts of Indonesia.

These projects include the construction of the Manggarai-Cikarang Double-Double Track (DDT) railway, the South Java Double Track railway, as well as the Trans Sulawesi Parepare-Makassar and Trans Sumatra railway infrastructure.

Then the construction of the Youtefa bridge in Jayapura-Papua and the Balang Island bridge to support Trans Kalimantan connectivity.

Furthermore, the construction of airports, port facilities and crossings in various provinces in the context of support for increasing connectivity as well as strengthening national logistics routes.

Finally, the construction of various educational facilities and infrastructure, both PTN within the Ministry of Education and Technology and PTKIN and madrasah within the Ministry of Religion.

Project financing through SBSN is a policy synergy between the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, and Ministries/Institutions (K/L).

This is done to finance priority projects or activities using funds sourced from the financial market through sharia-based State Securities (SBN) instruments issued by the government since 2008.

According to Sri Mulyani, the financing of the SBSN project shows a quite encouraging trend which is reflected in the increasing financing for SBSN projects, such as the number of K/L that are project initiators.

"This is also reflected in the value of the allocated financing, the number of projects built, as well as the distribution of the SBSN project implementing work units and the locations of SBSN projects being carried out," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
