APDESI Supports Jokowi For 3 Periods, PKB Legislator: It's Not Appropriate For Village Heads To Make Political Maneuvers Against The Constitution
JAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian Village Governments (APDESI) supports the extension of President Joko Widodo's term of office. DPP chairman Apdesi Surtawijaya claimed that many village heads felt that Jokowi needed to be president for three terms.
Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI from the PKB faction, Luqman Hakim, regretted the Apdesi support. Because according to him, it is inappropriate for professional organizations to use professional actors because of external parties.
Luqman also reminded the rules, one of which stipulates that certain professions are prohibited from carrying out practical politics, including village heads and officials.
"The support of those who claim that village heads in Indonesia are running for Jokowi as a presidential candidate for the third time, apart from violating the law, also violates the constitution," Luqman told reporters, Friday, April 1.
The PKB legislator for the Central Java electoral district considered that the village head should not be used as a tool to carry out political maneuvers that violated the constitution. Luqman suggested that village heads and village officials should focus on their main task of fighting for the prosperity of the people in their respective villages.
"It is not appropriate for the village head and village officials to provide themselves as tools for certain parties to carry out political maneuvers that are counter-constitutional," concluded the GP Ansor Chairman.
