Indonesian League 1 Final Standings: Bali United Wins, Persipura Jayapura Drops Caste
JAKARTA - The 2021/2022 Indonesian Liga 1 Competition will play its last match on Friday, 31 March. Bali United closed the competition as champions.
In the last match, Bali United won 3-1 over Persik Kediri. With the addition of these three points, Serdadu Tridatu has collected 75 points thanks to 23 wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats.
Meanwhile, Persipura Jayapura will be relegated. A 3-0 victory over Persita Tangerang was unable to save Mutiara Hitam from relegation.
Persipura perched in 16th position with 36 points. They accompanied Persela Lamongan and Persiraja Banda Aceh who had already been confirmed to be down caste to League 2.
Persipura Jayapura points are actually the same as Barito Putera, who in the last match drew 1-1 with Persib Bandung. However, Barito Putera has the right to sit in 15th position due to superior goal productivity.
Besides Barito Putera, the team that also escaped the relegation trap was PSS Sleman. They actually managed to climb to 13th place thanks to a 2-0 win over Persija Jakarta.
