TK Berdikari Tebet And Two Residents' Houses Burned, Loss Reached Rp1.9 M
JAKARTA - A total of three houses burned on Jalan Lapangan Ros Timur V RT, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta. Head of the South Jakarta Fire Department, Herbert Plider, said that of the three buildings on fire, one of them was a Kindergarten (TK).
Herbert explained that the incident occurred on Thursday, March 31, at around 11.25 WIB. At that time residents saw the fire from the TK Berdikari building. Residents flocked to try to extinguish the fire with minimal equipment. But his efforts were fruitless. Residents finally reported to the firefighters (damkar) South Jakarta.
"Residents saw a fire in the TK Berdikari building. Residents tried to extinguish it but the fire grew bigger. Then residents contacted the damkar," explained Herbert when confirmed, Thursday, March 31.
Herbert also said that as many as 18 fire engines were deployed with a total of 75 personnel. They finally managed to extinguish the fire at 13:45 WIB.
"The fire was extinguished from 11.35 WIB. Then at 12.15 WIB the fire could be handled or cooled. At 13:45 WIB it was confirmed that the fire had been extinguished," he explained.
Herbert confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. However, it is known that the loss reached Rp. 1.9 billion.
"There were no fatalities, only losses reached Rp. 1.9 billion. The fire is thought to have originated from an electric short circuit in the kindergarten building." he said.
