Fish-flavoured Shabu Successfully Thwarted By Tarakan Police

JAKARTA - The Tarakan Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, North Kalimantan, managed to thwart 906.62 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The illicit goods were kept in a box mixed with fish.

"The smuggling of narcotics of 906.62 grams in 18 bales will be sent from Tarakan to Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi," said Tarakan Police Chief AKBP Taufik Nurmandia in Tarakan, Tuesday 29 March.

AKBP Taufik Nurmandia said, the disclosure of the case started from public information. He said there was a shipment of methamphetamine to Pare-Pare using the Pelni Lambelu ship on March 9, 2022.

"At that time, the Opsnal Satreskoba team carried out an investigation and it was true that there was a pick-up truck suspected of entering the port area suspected of carrying methamphetamine," Taufik said as reported by Antara.

After being secured, inside the car was found a styrofoam box containing fish. During a search, 18 packs of suspected methamphetamine were found.

There is fish in the box, the mode is shabu mixed with fish. Upon examination and searched, 18 packs of methamphetamine were found.

After the development was carried out and the telephone number of the consignor was obtained, the team departed for Juata Laut and managed to find two suspects.

"We secured MI alias AK (39) and HO alias NG (30). Meanwhile, the pick-up driver only delivered and did not know the goods," said Taufik.

The two perpetrators were detained at the house of MI alias AK on Jalan Gajah Mada, Juata Laut Sub-district, in addition to that, the two perpetrators tested positive for methamphetamine.

The police chief said both of them were dealers and one of the suspects was a narcotics recidivist.

For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 junto article 132 paragraph 1 subsidiary article 112 paragraph 2 junto article 132 paragraph 1 RI Law number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years.
