Ahead Of Ramadan 2022, 5,465 Fakir And Poor In Sabang Receive Zakat From The Government
SABANG - The government through the Baitul Mal of Sabang City distributed zakat to 5,465 poor and indigent residents in Sabang City, Aceh. This effort is to ease the burden on the community to face the pandemic in the middle of Ramadan 2022 or 1443 Hijri.
The Mayor of Sabang Nazaruddin appreciated the muzakki or zakat obligators in their area who have distributed zakat through Baitul Mal of Sabang City as a zakat management institution to be handed over to mustahik or zakat recipients.
"I also want to invite all of us to set aside some of the assets that have reached the nisab to be handed over to the zakat amil agency," said Nazaruddin in Sabang City, Monday, March 28, citing Antara.
The Sabang City Government through the Baitul Mal of Sabang City distributes zakat for the poor and poor for the 2021 haul period, 2022 fiscal year to people who are entitled to receive it.
According to him, entering the holy month of Ramadan, zakat is a way to share with the local community who are less fortunate, so that it can relieve and assist them in fasting.
"Hopefully this zakat can ease the burden of our brothers and sisters in need," he added.
He hopes that the Baitul Mal of Sabang City, which is a government organization that manages zakat, will distribute zakat on target to those who are entitled to receive it.
Meanwhile, the Head of Baitul Mal of Sabang City, Zulhilmi, explained that the total zakat income for the 2021 haul period, for distribution in 2022, reached around Rp. 2 billion.
This zakat will be divided into seven seniors, namely the poor, the poor, amil, converts, gharim, fisabilillah and Ibn Sabil. "For the poor and the poor, the distribution today reached Rp 1.3 billion," said Zulhilmi.
Senif indigent will receive Rp. 300 thousand per head of family and Rp. 130 thousand per dependent. Meanwhile, the poor will be given Rp. 110 thousand per family and Rp. 30 thousand per dependent. "In total, the zakat distributed is Rp. 2 billion," said Zulhilmi.
