Fighting, Theft Perpetrators At OKU Sumsel Shot Dead
BATURAJA - The Lion Ogan Resmob Team of the Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police (OKU), South Sumatra (South Sumatra) shot dead the perpetrator of the violent theft with the initials UJ (35), for resisting arrest when he was about to be arrested on Saturday, March 26 at 16.00 WIB.
OKU Police Chief AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo, said that the perpetrators were shot by a member of the Lubuk Batang Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Lion Ogan Resmob Team, after ignoring the officers' warning shots during a raid on his home in Kartamulya Village, Lubuk Batang District.
When arrested, the recidivist and on the wanted list (DPO) for several cases of violent theft (Article 365 of the Criminal Code) and weighted theft (363 of the Criminal Code) that occurred in Lubuk Batang District since 2019 tried to escape from the pursuit of officers.
The perpetrator tried to escape by climbing the ceiling of the house to penetrate the roof of another resident's house to save himself from the officers' ambush, by running on the roof tiles.
"Since 2019 the suspect has been in the OKU Police DPO and has been arrested twice, unfortunately he managed to escape. This time thanks to a joint team, we managed to incapacitate the suspect. However, after being rushed to the hospital, the suspect couldn't be helped anymore," he said in Baturaja, reported by Antara, Sunday, March 27. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the OKU Police, AKP Hillal Adi Imawan, explained that based on the results of the recap, his party noted that there were four cases of theft with weights and theft with violence by the suspect and his gang.
Four cases each occurred in 2019 with two reports, and two more in 2021.
"In this case, the evidence that we managed to secure was three motorbikes which were allegedly stolen," he said.
