Attending The 41st Anniversary Of UNISMA, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Discusses The Technological Revolution

JAKARTA - The Vice President, KH Ma'ruf Amin, asked the Islamic University of Malang (UNISMA) to seize the opportunities created by the technological revolution, and use them for the advancement of the institution.

He said this in his remarks at the 41st Anniversary of the Islamic University of Malang. "In the era of digital transformation, adaptability is a must. UNISMA must be able to seize the opportunities created by the technological revolution and make it a vehicle for institutional progress," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, March 27.

He encouraged UNISMA to expand cooperation and collaboration with various parties, both nationally and internationally. He said that at an increasingly mature age, UNISMA has gone through various challenges from every changing times.

He appreciated UNISMA who had set a vision to become a world-class university. He reminded that to become a world-class university requires hard work, and demands the quality of education, quantity and quality of research, status or ranking, as well as the impact that universities can have not only on the country, but also on the world.

He is optimistic, with the experience of UNISMA, which has been the locomotive of Nahdlatul Ulama's education for decades, and has produced many Indonesian Muslim scholars, UNISMA can achieve world-class status. "I hope that the entire UNISMA academic community will provide full support for every step of UNISMA to achieve that vision.

At the end of his speech, he reminded UNISMA in improving academic quality not to neglect strengthening faith and piety as well as the values of Pancasila. "The challenges in the modern world actually require strengthening religious and national characters. By mastering science and technology, combined with faith and piety as well as Pancasila values, we can create a generation of Indonesian Muslims who are globally competitive," he said.
