President Jokowi Visits Former Chairman Of PP Muhammadiyah Buya Syafii In Sleman

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo flew to Sleman, Yogyakarta, to visit the former General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Ahmad Syafii Maarif, or who is familiarly called Buya Syafii. Also in the group was the Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno.

The President and the Minister of State Secretary arrived at Buya Syafii's residence at 11.26 WIB, and were immediately greeted by the General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nasir.

"Today, I visited Buya Syafii Maarif. Thank God he is currently in good health, because I heard that he has been hospitalized for the past few days," said the President, in his official statement, as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 26.

As is known, Buya Syafii was previously treated at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, Sleman Regency, due to illness. President Jokowi said he was happy with Buya Syafii's current condition, which was getting better.

Jokowi also asked the entire community to pray for the health of the senior Muhammadiyah figure. "Let's all pray together so that he is always given health by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala," said the President.

On the same occasion, the General Chairperson of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nasir representing the entire Muhammadiyah Family expressed his gratitude for the President's arrival to see Buya Syafii's condition after receiving treatment at the hospital.

"I represent Muhammadiyah, the Muhammadiyah extended family wherever they are, the first to express my deepest gratitude to the President who has taken the time in his busy schedule to visit Buya," said Haedar.
