President Jokowi Orders West Java MSME Products For G20 Delegation Souvenirs
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo ordered several handicraft products from West Java to be used as souvenirs at the grand event of the G20 Presidency.
"Pak Jokowi conveyed this directly to Pak Pratikno (Minister of State Secretary)," said West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil after attending the opening of the 2022 International Handicraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) at the Jakarta Convention Center Convention Center, reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 23.
Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, said the President ordered wooden watches and wooden radios when he visited the West Java Pavilion after opening Inacraft 2022.
The wooden watch and wooden radio made by West Java Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) will later be given as souvenirs to the G20 Presidency delegation.
"The president ordered several West Java products to be used as souvenirs at the G20. What he ordered was a wooden radio and a wooden watch," said Kang Emil.
This year, Indonesia holds the Presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) whose peak event will be held in November 2022. Members of the multilateral cooperation forum consist of 19 countries and one European Union economic area.
Kang Emil said that the wooden watches and wooden radios ordered were of very good quality and were often exported to various countries.
Meanwhile, at the Inacraft 2022 exhibition, West Java exhibited 335 curated MSME products. In addition to products derived from wood, 60 percent of West Java SMEs also display products from fabric derivatives.
"60 percent of West Java products come from fashion derivatives or those related to fabrics, but wood is currently on the rise, and this has attracted the attention of the President," said Kang Emil.
