Corruption Eradication Commission Deploys Waskita Beton Precast's Former Managing Director To Sukamiskin Prison
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent former President Director of PT Waskita Beton Precast Tbk, Jarot Subana, to the Class IA Sukamiskin Correctional Institution, Bandung.
There, he will serve his sentence after being found guilty in the corruption case of a fictitious project at PT Waskita Karya (Persero). Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that the execution prosecutor carried out the execution on Tuesday, March 22 yesterday.
"The convict will serve a prison term of six years minus the period of detention he has served," Ali said in a written statement, Wednesday, March 23.
This execution was based on the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 944 K/Pid.Sus/2022 dated 22 February 2022 in conjunction with the Corruption Court's decision at PT DKI Jakarta Number: 23/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PT DKI dated 9 September 2021 in conjunction with the Corruption Court's decision at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 59/Pid.Sus-TPK/2020/PN.Jkt.Pst dated April 26, 2021. The verdict is declared to have permanent legal force.
In addition to sending Jarot to the Sukamiskin Prison, the KPK will also charge a fine of Rp. 200 million. The money must be paid a month after the verdict is declared complete legal force.
If Jarot is unable to pay the fine later, his sentence will be replaced with a prison sentence of two months.
In addition, Ali said that the KPK would also collect a replacement money of Rp. 7.1 billion from Jarot. The replacement money must be paid within one month.
"If you can't afford it, then the property is auctioned to cover the replacement money. In addition, if the replacement money is not paid, they will be sentenced to two years in prison," he concluded.
