Abah W Healing Shaman Practicing Witchcraft In Bandung Arrested For Oblivious To 2 Children

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit has arrested a man claiming to be a traditional healer with the initials J alias Abah W (46) who is suspected of molesting two children with a cure using witchcraft.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo said the arrests stemmed from a report from the victim's family since January 2022. It is suspected that Abah W molested two children aged 14 and 15 years.

"Abah W has opened a practice of receiving patients to be cured of witchcraft, located in Dayeuhkolot District," said Kusworo at the Bandung Police, West Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, March 21.

In addition to healing from witchcraft, Kusworo said the perpetrator also claimed to be able to help his victims to treat cases of breakups. However, according to him, the sexual abuse is still carried out in the same way.

"With that, the family, rather than the victim, will report to the Bandung Police, and the Bandung Police will follow up," he said.

Although it was only known that there were two victims, according to him, the police suspected that there were a number of other victims. He also asked the public to report if anyone felt that his family had been a victim of the obscene shaman.

"The victim experiences sadness and trauma related to what the suspect did, we also do trauma healing for the victims," said Kusworo.

As a result of his actions, Abah W was snared by the police under Article 82 of the Child Protection Act with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
