Gorontalo Provincial Government Proposes Several Infrastructure Programs To The Government

GORONTALO - The Gorontalo Provincial Government (Pemprov) proposed a number of infrastructure programs, to become a National Strategic Project in 2023.

The proposal was submitted by the Deputy Governor of Gorontalo Idris Rahim at the Coordination Meeting of the Governors of the Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku and Papua regions held by the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) RI at Four Points by Sheraton Manado, Monday. March 21.

"We have proposed three major projects and other strategic projects to the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas," said the deputy governor as quoted by Antara.

The three main projects are the construction of an integrated main port network, the construction of urban flats, and the construction of hazardous and toxic waste treatment facilities (B-3).

Idris explained that the construction of an integrated main port network in the form of the extension of the pier, bridges and canals, as well as dredging of the Tilamuta Port pond channel.

"For the construction of flats in the form of one tower unit. Meanwhile, for B3 waste treatment facilities, including leachate treatment installations, namely waste generated from exposure to rainwater in landfills," he said.

In addition, the Gorontalo Provincial Government also proposed other programs, namely the development of Djalaludin Airport, the continuation of the construction of the Gorontalo Outer Ring Road (GORR) Segment III, and improving the quality of self-help housing.

"We hope that all of the proposed programs will be accommodated in the National Strategic Project so that infrastructure development can be faster and more equitable, and the benefits will be felt by the community," he added.
