COVID-19 Update As Of March 20: Although There Are 5,922 New Cases, The Number Of Active Cases Has Fallen To 219,688

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today (Sunday 20 March). Of the 122,064 specimens examined, the results were 5,922 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,962,482 people and active cases have decreased by 10,046 to 219,688 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, March 20.

Today's recovered cases increased by 15,829 people, bringing the total to 5,589,057 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 139 cases and a total of 153,738 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,167 cases and a total of 1,228,335 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1,127 new cases with a total of 1,087,795 cases. Central Java has 658 new cases and a total of 618,390 cases. DI Yogyakarta has 513 new cases and a total of 217,333 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 3,470 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,251 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 1,480 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 1,256 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 90,365,359.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 9.24 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 5,678 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 194,559,612 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 154,267,349 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 16,278,674. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
