Awesome! Rising FFB Prices Make Oil Palm Farmers Pocket Up To IDR 12 Million Per Month
KUTAI KARTANEGARA - Crude Palm Oil (CPO) prices at the international level may experience a decline. However, the price rally that occurred earlier to penetrate the highest level, seems to have also moved the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) at the farmer level to a high level.
This condition is practically beneficial for oil palm farmers, who are claimed to be able to pocket an income of up to Rp. 12 million per month.
"Alhamdulillah, if you want to take it every day, you can get up to Rp 12 million a month. At the fresh fruit bunch (FFB) collectors, the price is Rp 2,800 per kilogram. Previously it was only Rp 2,400 to Rp 2,500 per kilogram," said Wisnu, one of the oil palm farmers, in Prangat Selatan Village, Kutai Kartanegara, as reported by Antara, Saturday, March 19.
Meanwhile, according to Wisnu, if the harvested palm oil is brought to the factory, the price will be even more expensive, it can reach more than Rp. 3,000 per kilogram.
"But take it by truck, to Muara Badak, which is the closest from here. If you take it to Jonggon (Kutai Kartanegara) it can be even more expensive," said Wisnu.
Wisnu admitted that he had never sold at a price of Rp. 3,000 per kilogram. However, in a day he can still earn around Rp. 400,000 from an area of one hectare and a half, with more than one hundred trees belonging to him.
"Rp 400,000 is about a quintal and a half. If you use the motorbike twice back and forth, then the petrol capital is Rp 50,000," said Wisnu.
He explained that the distance from his house to his oil palm plantation was about five kilometers. So if you go back and forth it becomes 10 kilometers. "Twice towing to 20 kilometers, with damaged road conditions, so the motor must be modified," said Wisnu.
Wisnu added, before the price of FFB rose, the price of palm oil was only in the range of Rp500-Rp700 per kilogram.
"At that time people were not interested in oil palm. They were told to take it, no one wanted it," said Wisnu.
