Police Examine 7 People Arrested During The Raid On Kampung Boncos

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police are examining seven people who were arrested in the raid on the Boncos village, known as the drug lord, in the Kota Bambu Selatan sub-district, Pal Merah sub-district, West Jakarta.

Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit, AKBP Danang Setyo, said the seven people were arrested for allegedly being involved in drug trafficking and abuse.

"We managed to secure seven people along with evidence of five packages of methamphetamine ready to be distributed weighing 12.79 grams, methamphetamine suction devices, four cell phones, and several plastic packages of crystal methamphetamine," he said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 19.

Danang said the seven people consisted of six men and one woman.

"Until now, it is still being investigated where they got the illicit goods," he said.

According to Danang, investigators are also still investigating the circulation of narcotics in Boncos Village, which is suspected to be carried out by local residents. To prevent narcotics trafficking activities, the West Jakarta Police ranks routine patrols at the location.

"With routine patrols at the location, at least it can have a good effect on addicts and dealers," said West Jakarta Metro Police Head of Samapta, Kompol Slamet Riyanto, Monday (14/3).

Slamet explained that his party had deployed dozens of officers to explore each side of the Boncos settlement. They observe the activities of residents who are considered suspicious.

"If there is a suspicious behavior, we will immediately carry out an examination, especially if the person concerned is found to be storing or possessing illicit drugs, we will proceed with the legal process," he said.

He also hopes that the public will report to the police if they see any drug trafficking activity in the area.

"Report via the 'call center' that we have provided either via WhatsApp at number 081932383442 or via direct message on Instagram @polres_jakbar and @perintis_presisi_res_jakbar," he explained.
