Menparekeraf Sandiaga Uno Names 300 MSMEs Harvesting Cuan During The Mandalika MotoGP Event

LOMBOK - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekeraf) Sandiaga Uno said the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia had a major impact on domestic micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The presence of this event also provides an opportunity to advance class for these businesses.

"A total of 300 MSME players experienced a significant increase in income reaching a total of IDR 1.2 billion," said the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno at the Indonesian Media Center in Praya, Antara, Friday, March 18.

The ministry has collected data directly at the airport. The abundance of income for MSMEs is certainly an interesting note at the beginning of the Mandalika MotoGP which starts today with a free practice session.

"With a very large MotoGP fanbase around the world, this event will attract a lot of attention because there are at least 400 million spectators worldwide in each series," he said.

That way, it becomes one of the very strong factors in increasing the income of domestic MSME actors.

"Generating business opportunities from MSME actors, so that efforts to recover the national economy can be fast," he said

He hopes that the profits obtained by MSME actors during the Mandalika MotoGP can cover losses caused by the global COVID-19 outbreak that has hit over the past two years.

Thus, providing opportunities for MSME actors to expand their business wings to be bigger in the future and recover quickly.

"Closing the losses of MSMEs during the last two years of the pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, from the tourism sector, the Mandalika MotoGP provides unlimited promotional benefits for the mainstay tourism destinations of Lombok, NTB Province in particular and Indonesia in general. The tourism destinations will be more centralized according to their segments, starting from sports tourism destinations, halal destinations, to nature tourism.

"This natural tourism destination has now made Lombok famous as a honeymoon destination, because of its beauty, atmosphere and unique panorama," he said.

Therefore, these opportunities must be optimized to the maximum. Given, MotoGP has the potential to reach many people in various parts of the continent. This event will trigger Lombok tourism to recover in the future, so Indonesia will recover.

"This event is a trigger for the revival of Indonesia's creative economy and tourism," he said.
