Given Room To Develop, Woman Practitioners Of Herbal Medicine SMEs Appreciate DPR Chair Puan Maharani
JAKARTA - Women entrepreneurs of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) appreciate the commitment and partisanship of the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, towards the sustainability of the businesses of MSMEs in Indonesia. Especially the appreciation for Puan's role in providing space for MSME players to develop as well as enter the digital market which is currently growing rapidly.
"Speaking of the digital economy for MSME actors, especially women, of course, we appreciate what has been Mrs. Puan's commitment both when she was a Minister and now as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives. We see that Ms. Puan is really pro people," said General Chairperson of Laskar Jamu Carrying Indonesia Lasmi during the political discussion of Indonesia Point #series 5 entitled "Puan Maharani and Strengthening the Digital Economy of Women Entrepreneurs of SMEs" in Jakarta, Friday 18 March.
According to Lasmi, MSMEs entering the digital market is a must. Therefore, he also asked the government to pay attention to MSMEs, especially female actors, so that they are consistently accompanied so that they have the ability to enter the digital economy ecosystem.
"Speaking of a pandemic is actually talking about how MSMEs are able to contribute to the life of small-scale households. And that has happened so far when many have lost their jobs due to layoffs, MSMEs are the main pillars. So it is very natural for the government or national leaders to pay attention to us in the future. "We are the perpetrators of this MSME," continued Lasmi.
So far, he explained, the government's attention to the sustainability of MSMEs is still very minimal, especially for the herbal medicine business sector. This is reflected in government policies that almost do not provide a stimulus for the people's business sector.
Therefore, he hopes that future leaders of Indonesia must understand the needs of the small people, especially women.
"Ms. Puan as a candidate for national leader has great attention to MSMEs, especially women. And we have high hopes for Ms. Puan because we believe that Ms. Puan has this commitment," he explained.
He and members of the herbal medicine community throughout Indonesia, for example, feel very helpful after using digital technology in selling and marketing their products.
"Especially for herbal medicine, we actually developed very well during this pandemic because the community's need was high for endurance. It was even higher when we started using digital technology. Sales, for example, went up to 800 bottles per day. This means that the potential is huge," he said.
He also knows how the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, actively provides assistance to the herbal medicine community in Central Java.
"Recently he visited the herbal medicine community in Sukoharjo. And he gave directions about this digital aspect to be entered. This means that he has special attention on how these MSME women can move up class and are no longer underestimated," he explained.
In the context of national leadership, Lasmi assesses that Puan's figure is right in relation to fighting for the aspirations of women, especially MSME actors.
"In simple terms, of course, women better understand what women's needs are. We female MSME actors in Indonesia expect a lot from Mrs. Puan who can pay more attention to us. We pray that she can become a national leader in the future," concluded Lasmi .
