Two Thugs Targeting Truck Drivers In Cilincing Can Get IDR 1 Million In One Day
JAKARTA - Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police, Commissioner Adjutant of Police Alex Chandra, revealed the motives of two youths who committed extortion to truck drivers in Cilincing, North Jakarta.
Commissioner Adjutant of Police Chandra said the two perpetrators tried to get money by forcibly asking the truck driver who opened the car window while walking on the location. The money, once earned, was used to buy liquor.
"The motive is money, to buy liquor (drunk)," said Alex when contacted, Thursday, March 17.
Alex explained, during the action. The perpetrators can get a profit of up to IDR 1 million rupiah.
"For liquors, the highest is 500 thousand, there is also 1 million," said Alex
Commissioner Adjutant Alex also revealed that the two perpetrators had carried out their actions three times. But he did not know more in detail yet about when the time.

For their actions, the two perpetrators were detained at the Cilincing Police Station. They were charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 9 years in prison.
"Article 365 of the Criminal Code carries a penalty of 9 years in prison," he said.
Previously, a video went viral on social media showing two people carrying out illegal levies (extortion) by taking cellphones or money from drivers passing through the Cilincing area, North Jakarta, Wednesday, March 16.
