Throughout 2021, Local Government Services The Most Reported To The Ombudsman

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Mokhammad Najih revealed that the public reported the most local government agencies (Pemda), which was around 40.99 percent of the total reports received by the Indonesian Ombudsman throughout 2021.

"Throughout 2021, the number of public reports submitted to the Indonesian Ombudsman was 7,186 reports and the most reported agencies were local governments at 40.99 percent," Najih said in a statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, March 17.

He conveyed that of the 7,186 reports of alleged maladministration, 6,176 were regular reports, 835 quick response reports, and 175 self-initiated investigative reports.

Najih said as many as 5 agencies that the public reported the most to the Indonesian Ombudsman throughout 2021, respectively, were the local government with 2,945 reports (40.99 percent), the Ministry of ATR/BPN with 811 reports (11.29 percent), the police with 676 reports (9.41 percent). percent), ministries or government agencies 612 reports (8.52 percent), and BUMN/BUMD 545 reports (7.59 percent).

Meanwhile, the substance of the most reports was in the agrarian sector, 1,227 reports (17.08 percent), employment 883 reports (12.29 percent), police 676 reports (9.41 percent), and education 546 reports (7.6 percent).

The most common forms of alleged maladministration handled by the Indonesian Ombudsman were 33.23 percent of protracted delays, 28.69 percent of non-services, and 21.19 percent of procedural deviations.

On the other hand, he said, there were still many public reports that did not meet the formal (1,206 reports) and material (697 reports) requirements. According to Najih, this shows that the public's understanding of reporting needs to be improved.

"To overcome this, non-reporting consultation activities were carried out which increased by 35.71 percent compared to the previous year," he said.

Najih explained that as an effort to prevent maladministration, the Indonesian Ombudsman carried out an assessment of compliance with service standards to determine the quality of public services nationally.

Since 2021 compliance assessments for local governments have been carried out on a population basis, namely 34 provincial governments, 416 district governments, and 98 city governments.

He made this statement when presenting the 2021 Annual Report with the theme "Supervising the Compliance and Alertness of Public Service Providers in Facing Uncertainty".
