1.5 Kg Sabu Distributor Network Bailed Dismantled, Two Underage Suspects
PANGKALPINANG - The Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) of the Bangka Belitung Islands has succeeded in dismantling a network of traffickers of 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, involving minors, in order to eradicate drug trafficking in the area.
"Two of the seven suspected dealers of 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine who were arrested were minors," said the head of the BNNP for the Babylon Islands Brigadier General Zainul Muttaqien in Pangkalpinang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 17.
He said the case of inter-island narcotics trafficking involving minors was successfully uncovered on Wednesday, March 16 at 01.30 WIB in Maras Glad Village, Bangka Regency, thanks to the collaboration of the BNNP Joint Team, the Babel Islands Police and the community.
"The joint team managed to thwart the shipment of 1.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Palembang, South Sumatra Province, which was planned to be circulated in Bangka Belitung Province," he said.
He stated that the operation to catch the shipment of crystal methamphetamine weighing 1.5 kilograms, estimated at Rp. 2.5 billion, succeeded in securing seven perpetrators, namely MB (45), R (39), AS (43), W (31), DA (19), AH (11) and M (2). In addition to the perpetrators, a joint team led by the Head of the Babel Regional Police's Eradication Division Kombes Dinnar W.SIK.MM also secured evidence of 15 packages of methamphetamine, weighing 1.5 KG, and confiscated 1 car. minibus and 1 unit R2 as well as several mobile phones.
"All evidence is currently being brought to the BNNP Babel for further examination and legal proceedings," he said.
According to him, by disclosing this narcotics trafficking case, it is estimated that BNNP will be able to save 150 thousand people in Bangka Belitung from drug entanglement.
"These drug dealers are a network and we will continue to develop this drug trafficking case to its roots," he said.
