Eight Villages In Grobogan, Central Java, Are Flooded
GROBOGAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Grobogan Regency, Central Java, noted that eight villages were hit by floods due to overflowing water from the Serang River and high rainfall.
According to the Daily Executive Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Grobogan Regency, Endang Sulistyoningsih in Grobogan, Wednesday, the number of houses affected by the flood reached more than a thousand houses spread over eight villages in four sub-districts.
The four sub-districts are Penawangan, Purwodadi, Karangrayung and Toroh sub-districts with varying numbers of villages.
Floods that occurred in Penawawangan District spread across Pengkol Village, Karangpahing Village and Winong Village as many as 159 houses were affected.
Meanwhile, Purwodadi sub-districts are spread out in Candisari and Cingkrong villages with up to 1,770 houses affected, as well as five schools and one Islamic boarding school.
Meanwhile, in Karangrayung sub-district, there are 25 houses in Nampu and Karangsono villages. Then in Toroh District, it is spread in Katong Village with inundation heights varying between 10-70 centimeters.
The flood has occurred since Tuesday (15/3) at 07.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the current condition is that houses, schools and Islamic boarding schools are still inundated.
It was recorded that five schools, one Islamic boarding school and 1,770 houses were still flooded in Cingkrong Village, Purwodadi District. Meanwhile, in Winong Village, Penawawangan District, 36 houses were still flooded.
Meanwhile, the water debit of the Serang River has decreased. Meanwhile, the height of the puddle tends to decrease and some access roads can also be passed because the puddles have begun to recede.
As of this Wednesday, BPBD Grobogan noted that there were still 17 people who had taken refuge in places of worship in Cingkrong Village.
The local BPBD's efforts, in addition to evacuating residents and livestock to safer places, also established a public kitchen in Cingkrong Village and distributed rice packs to a number of villages and refugee camps.
