The 30-year-old actor evaded personal taxes of 47 million yuan and unpaid taxes of 13.99 million yuan in 2019 and 2020 by making false reports.
Deng Lun's party took the initiative to pay 44.55 million yuan in taxes and report other illegal actions related to taxes.
Tax authorities put the total tax avoided at 106 million yuan. Moments later, Deng Lun's name became a trending topic on Weibo within 30 minutes.
The tax authorities said they would continue to strengthen tax regulations in the entertainment industry and carry out investigations.
On the same day, Deng Lun released an apology to the public via Weibo. He said he would take responsibility for his actions.
“I will reflect on my actions. I also take all the responsibility and the consequences," said Deng Lun.
Meanwhile, Deng Lun's personal accounts such as Douyin and Weibo have been deleted from the internet. This coincided with L'Orea and Viomi Technology canceling their partnership with Deng Lun.
