Pidie Contributes The Most COVID-19 Cases In Aceh

BANDA ACEH - The Aceh COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) said 275 residents of its area had tested positive, on Tuesday, March 15. So that patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals and self-isolation also increase to 2,176 people.

"Pidie has reported the most new daily cases, reaching 89 people," said Aceh COVID-19 Spokesperson Saifullah Abdulgani in Banda Aceh, as reported by Antara.

Apart from Pidie residents, 43 new cases were also detected in Banda Aceh, 30 people from Simeulue, 17 people from Aceh Besar and Gayo Lues, 11 people from Bireuen, 10 people from North and Central Aceh, and nine people from Aceh Tamiang.

Furthermore, six people from Pidie Jaya, five people from West Aceh and East Aceh, four people from Aceh Singkil and Nagan Raya each; Lhokseumawe, Sabang, and Aceh Barat Daya three people each, Bener Meriah and Langsa residents two each; as well as residents of Subulussalam and Aceh Jaya one person each.

Saifullah said the addition of new cases per day spread across 21 regencies/cities in Tanah Rencong. Therefore, the Aceh COVID-19 Task Force invites residents to carry out vaccinations starting from doses one, two, to boosters.

In addition, it is also disciplined to apply health protocols in the midst of the spread of new variants of Omicron. Moreover, five areas in Aceh have again become orange zones or are at moderate risk of virus transmission, such as Aceh Tamiang, Lhokseumawe, Aceh Besar, Banda Aceh, and Sabang.

Meanwhile, 17 other regencies/cities are yellow zones or low risk of spreading the deadly virus.

“Vaccines form a defense in the body. Those who have been fully vaccinated are proven to be protected from serious illness and the risk of death," said Saifullah.

Until now, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Aceh has reached 42,638 people, including 38,329 recovered patients, 2,113 deaths, and 2,176 active cases being treated and self-isolating.
