Meaning Of Land And Water That The Governors Bring To IKN, Mahfud MD: Interesting Stories Symbolize Unity And Diversity
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD revealed the meaning of land and water that will be brought by governors to the candidate for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago. According to him, it symbolizes unity and diversity. Mahfud said this when giving a speech at the Bengkulu Province Governor's Park and Forkopimda Friendly event, at Balai Semarak, as well as witnessing the handover of land and water by the Chairman of the Bengkulu Indigenous Community Agency to the Bengkulu Governor, Saturday, March 12.
"From Bengkulu, from West Papua, from Papua, from Kalimantan, from West Sumatra, Aceh, all gathered there," said Mahfud quoted on Sunday, March 13. He said the two kilograms of soil and one liter of water that will be brought by each governor to be included in the Archipelago Kendi already represent all ethnic groups and religions in each province.
“This is our land, our water. Indonesian homeland. So we have to protect our motherland. What symbols emerge from it? Diversity," said Mahfud.

As is known, President Joko Widodo will visit IKN Nusantara for three days starting from March 13-15, 2022. The President will camp at point zero which is the location for the construction of the State Palace.
On Monday, March 14, the land and water the governors brought will be used in traditional rituals by pouring them into the Kendi Nusantara, a large copper vessel.
Bengkulu Province itself brought land taken from the land of the Bengkulu Semarak Raya Hall, and water from an old well in Bung Karno's exile as well as water from Dendam Tak Already Lake.
