KPKP Sub-dept. Inject 47 Pets In South Jakarta To Prevent Rabies

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Sub-dept. (Sudin) said that 47 animals were injected with rabies vaccine. The goal is that the area is free from rabies.

"A total of 47 HPR (rabies transmitting animals) were vaccinated in Jati Padang, Pasar Minggu," said Head of the Livestock and Animal Health Section of the South Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept., Fitri Desfandiari when confirmed, Friday, February 11.

Fitri explained that dozens of HPRs received the yaki vaccine, one dog, 2 ferrets and 44 cats.

"The 47 animals that were injected with rabies vaccination were all injected free of charge," he said.

Fitri said that his party will target 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta to inject rabies vaccines for pets.

“This activity is in order to maintain Jakarta as a rabies-free area. Currently there are 0 cases (rabies)," said Fitri.
