Police Arrest Pregnant Women's Gang Of Thieves, All Perpetrators Are Minors

JAKARTA - Police arrested a gang of gangsters who victimized a pregnant woman. Their crimes went viral on social media.

"Revealing cases of violent theft. One victim is pregnant," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Friday, March 11.

In this case, seven people were named as suspects, all of whom were minors. They have the initials MA, MP, AS, RA, MD, MA, and AS.

This case was revealed after a viral video was recorded on social media. The footage shows a pregnant woman with the initials FR being the victim of a robbery.

The actions of the suspects began when the victim left for work riding a motorcycle in the Bekasi area, on Tuesday, March 8. However, suddenly the suspects who had followed the victim without further ado immediately ambushed him.

"Looking for victims by looking for motorbikes and then going around targets that can be used as targets, then after finding targets, especially the weak or women, they immediately squeezed and then brandished a sickle knife," said Zulpan.

However, the police did not take long to uncover the case. It only took one day to apprehend the perpetrators.

"No more than a day or a few hours the police immediately took action and secured all the perpetrators," said Zulpan.

With the arrest of the perpetrators, the police suspect them of Article 365 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with violence. As a result, they face up to 9 years in prison.
