Anies Is Considered Afraid Of Being Left By The Party, Therefore Withdraws The Appeal Regarding The Dredging Of The Mampang River

JAKARTA - Political observer from Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, caught the political intent of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's decision to withdraw an appeal against the Jakarta Administrative Court's decision that sentenced him to dredge up the Mampang River completely.

Ujang assessed that Anies was worried that political parties (political parties) would be abandoned ahead of the 2024 general election if he continued to take legal steps against the residents of the Mampang River flood victims.

According to Ujang, Anies' appeal is considered by political parties to have a bad effect on Anies' image in the eyes of the public. Like it or not, it will also have an impact on the supporting parties.

"It seems that this is Anies' compromise with political parties. If the appeal is continued, the parties are unlikely to want to support Anies. Because politics is basically mutual benefit," Ujang told VOI, Friday, March 11.

Like it or not, Anies does need a party for his political vehicle in the 2024 General Election. Therefore, if the appeal measure draws criticism from parties, even those who carried it during the 2017 Pilkada, Anies will cancel it.

"If the policy is for the good of the people, it should be executed and not compromise with the parties. However, that is the risk of political figures who do not have parties. They must and must compromise and please political parties," explained Ujang.

For information, when Anies appealed the PTUN decision which required him to completely dredge the Mampang River and build sheet piles, criticism came from a number of parties, namely PDIP, PSI, and even Gerindra, which is a supporting party.

Two days later, Anies immediately canceled the appeal. The Head of the Legal Bureau of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat, Yayan Yuhanah, argued that the decision to withdraw the appeal was because the panel of judges did not state that the DKI Provincial Government had committed an unlawful act.

Another consideration for revocation of the appeal was because the panel of judges also rejected 5 of the 7 demands of the plaintiffs in this case. The plaintiffs in this case are a number of residents of the Mampang River flood victims.

There were also 5 demands that were rejected by the Jakarta Administrative Court judges, namely the widening of the Krukut River in Pela Mampang Village, river dredging which has not been routinely carried out since 2017 in Krukut River, the dredging of the Cipinang River which has experienced siltation, the construction of embankments on the banks of the Cipinang River and demands for compensation. the plaintiffs worth Rp1.15 billion.

Meanwhile, 2 demands that were granted by the panel of judges were to require the DKI Provincial Government to completely dredge the Mampang River to the Pondok Jaya area and to require the DKI Provincial Government to process the construction of river sheet piles in Pela Mampang Village.
