After Earthquake, West Pasaman Are Now Affected With Landslides
SIMPANG EMPAT - Another landslide has hit the Polongan Anam area, Talamau District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra which has made the transportation flow of the Simpang Empat-Talu transportation inaccessible to vehicles since Thursday, March 19 evening.
"Another landslide occurred on Thursday at 19.30 western Indonesia time, triggered by heavy rains since Thursday afternoon," said Head of the West Pasaman Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Jhon Edwar, at Simpang Empat, Friday, March 11.
He said the information obtained by landslides covered the road in Polongan Anam.
This causes four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles cannot pass through that road.
"As of Friday morning, it was still raining, making it difficult to handle. In addition, the area is very prone to landslides because the soil at that location is still unstable after the earthquake," he said, as quoted by Antara.
According to him, the point of the landslide that occurred at the location where the previous landslide had caused the road body to be closed and vehicles unable to pass.
At the point of the landslide, he said the ground was still unstable due to the earthquake some time ago. Many stones and wood materials fell to cover the road.
"We are still seeing the condition of the landslide last night. We will clean up this Friday morning. Because at the landslide location last night there was no lighting and it was prone to follow-up landslides," he said.

Previously, in the same place after the earthquake, a landslide occurred on Tuesday, March 1, making traffic flow on the asphalt road completely cut off. Then on Monday, March 7 night, another landslide occurred and disrupted traffic flow again.
