JAKARTA - Riau Governor Syamsuar hopes that the central government can open the entrance for international business and tourism trips in Riau Province, especially from and to neighboring Malaysia.

"The importance of opening international travel is because the relationship between Riau Province and Malaysia cannot be separated. Riau and Malaysia have close relations, family relations, brotherhood and business," said Syamsuar in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 9.

He said that he had conveyed his wish to the Regional Office of the Kemenkum-HAM Riau when there was a national policy, meanwhile the travel restrictions for domestic people had been reduced.

Now, he said, the government has reduced the restrictions, including a policy of no more PCR and quarantine. Therefore, traveling from abroad to within the country can also be given convenience.

"For that, we hope that Riau can have such an opportunity, so this is part of our efforts to increase economic growth in Riau. If that opportunity is opened, the people of Riau are ready, as long as there is a central government policy that opens international travel. , at least there are openings for travel from abroad," he said.
