Jokowi-Zulhas Reportedly Meet To Discuss Ministerial Rations, PPP Doesn't Mind And Asks Coalition Party To Talk
JAKARTA - The issue of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) holding a meeting with the General Chair of the PAN, Zulkifli Hasan, surfaced. Even their meeting was said to discuss a cabinet reshuffle.
PPP Deputy General Chair Arsul Sani admitted that his party did not mind if PAN got a ministerial position in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. "We don't mind," said Arsul at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, March 7.
However, the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR stated that the granting of a ministerial position in the cabinet is entirely the prerogative of President Jokowi. Even so, said Arsul, the coalition political parties must be consulted if Jokowi wants to reshuffle the Indonesia Maju cabinet. Moreover, it accommodates the new coalition party.
"It's just that once again there are aspirations from internally, of course, as party leaders, we must also voice that," said Arsul.
Regarding the PPP chairman, Suharso Monoarfa, who had been invited to talk with President Jokowi to discuss whether the reshuffle had been done or not, Arsul admitted that he did not know.
"I don't know exactly, but the PPP Ketum is a member of the cabinet, of course, routinely, even though it is incidental, not scheduled, communicates with the President," he said.
