Noisy Exhaust User Net, Singkawang Police Forms Special Team

JAKARTA - The Singkawang Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas), West Kalimantan, conducted a raid on noisy exhaust users. In its action, the Singkawang Police formed a special team.

"This team involved Satlantas members wearing plain clothes to monitor using cameras," said Singkawang Police Traffic Unit Head, IPTU Supriyanto, Monday, March 7, quoted from Antara.

He explained that this team not only carried out raids and could take action, but monitored it every day with a photo or video system, then the vehicle's license plate was identified to be given a fine.

"We will send the ticket to the home address concerned, so that the child's parents know about their child's activities outside the home," he said.

The sanctions given are also not kidding, namely in the form of detention of motorbikes for one month. Then the vehicle user concerned is also required to attend a trial at the Singkawang District Court.

"So parents, don't be surprised if a Satlantas officer comes to the house with the ticket," he said.

According to him, a vehicle that is already good and designed by a number of experts in a vehicle manufacturing company should not be changed, both the exhaust and other functions.

"Because the vehicle that has been designed by the company has been tested for safety for its users," he said.

However, he continued, if there are still vehicles using noisy exhausts, the police will not hesitate to take action.

"Parents, please look at their children, don't let their children's vehicles use noisy exhausts," he said.

According to him, a noisy exhaust can trigger the adrenaline of someone who initially wants to drive casually, but with a booming exhaust sound, of course, it can trigger the adrenaline of children who are relatively emotionally unstable to drive their vehicle as fast as possible.

Supriyanto said that currently his party is also carrying out the Kapuas 2022 Safety Operation. This operation will take place from March 1-14, 2022.

The operation was held so that the people of Singkawang City could be more orderly and disciplined in driving. In this way, Kamseltibcarlantas will be created in Singkawang City.

"With this operation, it is hoped that the awareness of the Singkawang community will be obedient and disciplined in traffic," he said.

He also appealed to the Singkawang community to always complete their identity such as SIM, STNK, SNI helmet and other vehicle equipment during the Safety Operation.
