Viral Al Mubarok Tour Bus Burns On Pandaan Toll Road, Police Ensure 48 Passengers Are Safe
MALANG - A tourism bus caught fire on the Pandaan Toll Road, Pasuruan heading towards Malang, East Java at around 07.30 WIB. Head of East Java PJR 4, Iptu Sudirman, said the bus was first caught in the fire at the back.
"The bus fire caused traffic in the area to queue up," he said when confirmed via telephone in Surabaya, Antara, Sunday, March 6.
The video of this burning car went viral and circulated on social media. It was stated that the Al Mubarok tourist bus with the police number K 1670 EW which experienced a fire at KM 60,800 Pandaan-Malang.
Several people seen in the video were crying and there was also an explosion inside the bus.
Sudirman said the fire had been extinguished and all of its passengers had been successfully evacuated to Purwodadi.
"Alhamdulillah, all 48 passengers survived and were taken to the Purwodadi toll exit," he said.
He said that currently many officers were on duty at the scene of the incident to regulate traffic flow.
"Currently, the traffic flow has gradually recovered, as long as you follow the direction of the officers taking the right lane you can pass. We also urge road users not to stop and take pictures of the crime scene so that traffic flows smoothly," he said.
If the driver follows the officer's directions, he can walk at a speed of about 40 to 50 kilometers. "We also have not explored whether there will be a suspect or not depending on developments later," he said.
