Police Issues DPO Suwito Ayub Suspect Of KSP Indosurya

JAKARTA - The National Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has published a wanted list (DPO) on behalf of Suwito Ayub, a suspect in the investment fraud case by the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP).

The Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtipideksus) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Department Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan said Suwito Ayub had fled when investigators were going to examine him.

"We made a list of people looking for Suwito Ayub," said Whisnu at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 1.

Suwito Ayub is the Managing Director of KSP Indosurya. He fled when investigators checked his residence. The checking is after the investigator asks for additional information from the person concerned in order to complete the documents, minutes, and case files.

The call took place last week. However, Suwito Ayub was unable to attend due to illness. The notification of absence is also accompanied by a certificate from the doctor.

"We didn't believe it, then we checked the location and it turned out that Brother Suwito Ayub was not where he lived. In the sense that he had run away," said Whisnu.

In this case, investigators have named Suwito Ayub as a suspect and two other suspects with the initials HS, as the founder and chairman of the cooperative, and JI as Head Admin.

In anticipation of the other two suspects following in Suwito Ayub's footsteps, the police arrested and detained HS and JI.

"Detention for fear of escaping like Suwito Ayub's brother," said Whisnu.

Whisnu invites the active role of the community to report to the nearest police if they know the whereabouts of Suwito Ayub. He was then accused of Article 46 of the Banking Law collecting funds without permission from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

"If anyone finds out about Suwito Ayub's whereabouts, they immediately report it to the nearest police station," said Whisnu.

This case went viral because the victim felt a loss of up to trillions of rupiah. The National Police attempted to track down the suspect's assets and requested a court order to block several accounts and assets of the suspects to recover the victims' losses.

Head of Sub-Directorate of TPPU Dittipideksus Bareskrim Kombes Pol. Robertus Yohanes De Deo Tresna Eka Trimana explained that the case occurred from November 2012 to February 2020.

Suwito Ayub as managing director collects public funds in the form of time deposits using the legal entity KSP Indosurya Inti Cipta which resulted in default of approximately Rp. 15.9 trillion with a total of 14,500 investors.

"We received 22 police reports from victims, both at the Criminal Investigation Department and at various regional police stations (Polda Metro Jaya, North Sumatra and South Sumatra)," said De Deo.

From the report, the victim reported that he had suffered a loss of Rp. 500 billion. The National Police also opened a complaint service, and received as many as 181 complaints from 1,252 investors, with a loss of approximately IDR 4 trillion.
