COVID-19 Update As Of March 1st: New Cases Of 24,728, Healing Increases By 39,887

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 438,751 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 24,728 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,589,176 people and active cases have fallen by 15,484 to 539,214 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, March 1.

Cases recovered on the day increased by 39,887 people, bringing the total to 4,901,302 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 352 cases and a total of 148,660 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 4,570 cases and a total of 1,008,313 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 3,634 new cases with a total of 1,178,473 cases. East Java has 2,761 new cases and a total of 536,173 cases. Central Java has 2,340 new cases and a total of 578,872 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 7,320 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 5,528 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 5,258 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 4,543 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 85,019,478.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 17.75 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 23,843 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, there are currently 190,976,834 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 144,505,806 vaccinations for the second dose. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 10,214,605. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
