Nostalgia, Mandra's Pocong Mumun Film Will Show In Cinemas

JAKARTA - The soap opera Jadi Pocong which was popular in 2002 will be available in a wide screen format. The production house Dee Company adapted the soap opera into the film Mumun.

Thursday, February 24, Dee Company released a simple yet familiar teaser poster. The green light that comes from Pocong's eyes invites the iconic nostalgia.

"The character of Pocong Mumun is very iconic. Regarding the story, of course the story from the past soap operas that we took," said film producer Mumun, Dheeraj Kalwani.

So Pocong tells of a pair of lovers, namely Mumun and Juned. Their love story ended after Mumun had an accident because he was hit by a car.

Juned, who lost Mumun, just resigned himself to the departure of his lover. On the day of the funeral, Husein, the gravedigger, forgot to untie Mumun's pocong. As a result, Mumun asked to be untied as well as take revenge on the person who hit him.

Aired in the early 2000s, the soap opera Jadi Pocong was played by Mandra, Eddies Adelia, and Benny Ruswandi. Not yet known whether the three will appear in this film or not. The position of director was also given to Rizal Mantovani.

Meanwhile, Mandra welcomed Dee Company's desire to adapt the story to the film Mumun.

"I entrusted Dee Company to adapt Mumun's story. I am sure that I have put my work in the right hands. How about Mumun's film story, I interfere, because the adaptation must be adapted to today's stories," said Mandra.

Dheeraj can ensure that Pocong Mumun's trademark will not be lost in the film version. Precisely the presence of this film can fulfill nostalgia but also introduce the story of Mumun to new audiences.

"What is certain is that Mumun fans will not lose the nostalgia for the love story of Mumun and Juned against Jefri. Meanwhile, new viewers can still follow the story even though they have never watched the soap opera," said Dheeraj.

The plan, the film Mumun from Dee Company will hit theaters in 2022.
