KPK Explores Allegations Of Cutting Urban Village Budgets In Bekasi City To Meet Rahmat Effendi's Needs
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the alleged flow of money from the results of budget cuts in urban villages to meet the personal needs of the inactive Mayor of Bekasi Rahmat Effendi or Pepen.
The investigation was carried out by summoning two witnesses, namely the Head of Jatikarya Village, Sulatifah and the Head of Jatiwarna Karyadi. Both were examined on Tuesday, February 22 yesterday.
"The two witnesses were present and confirmed, among other things, that there was an alleged cut in the sub-district budget by suspect RE which was used for the personal needs of suspect RE," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri in a written statement, Wednesday, February 23.
In addition, investigators are also exploring the process of implementing land acquisition which was directly carried out by Pepen from the Bekasi City Government Secretary, Renny Hendrawati. Meanwhile, from a number of officials at the Bekasi City Government, the KPK is exploring the determination of the land which was unilaterally also determined by the Golkar Party politician.
"Heryanto Suparjan, Head of Land Affairs at the Bekasi City Government Perkimtan Service; Head of Land Affairs at the Bekasi City Government Perkimtan Service, Usman; and Head of Finance for PDAM Tirta Bekasi, Joni Purwanto, were confirmed, among other things, regarding the determination of land for the location of several projects in the Bekasi City Government which was allegedly determined unilaterally by the suspect. RE," said Ali.
Previously reported, Rahmat Effendi or Pepen along with eight other people were named by the KPK as suspects for alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as the auction of positions in the Bekasi City Government.
Pepen with the Secretary of the Investment Office and PTSP, M Bunyamin; Head of Jatisari Village, Mulyadi; Jatisampurna Sub-district Head, Wahyudin; and Head of the Bekasi City Housing, Settlement and Land Office, Jumhana Lutfi, was named as the recipient of the bribe. Meanwhile, the four suspected givers, namely the Director of PT MAM Energindo, Ali Amril; private party, Lai Bui Min; Director of Kota Bintang Rayatri, Suryadi; and the sub-district head of Rawalumbu, Makhfud Saifudin.
