Wholesale ATK Seller In Bekasi, Detained At Central Jakarta Police On Alleged Counterfeiting Of Pen Brands Up To Billions Of Rupiah
JAKARTA – After undergoing a series of examinations, the Central Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim finally transferred the case of the alleged forgery of a pen brand with the initials as suspect BS, to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Wednesday, February 23, afternoon.
Marsudi, one of the pen brand holders, admitted that his party suffered huge losses due to the forgery committed by the alleged BS. The suspect, said Marsudi, was the owner of a wholesale shop selling office stationery (ATK). In this case, Marsudi admitted that he suffered losses of up to billions of rupiah.
"We have calculated the loss since 2010, it has been very large until now. Materially there is a decrease in the concept. Because we have calculated that the incoming goods are imported goods from outside. Surely it could be hundreds of billions (losses) since then," said Marsudi to VOI, Wednesday 23 February.
The victim also said that he suffered immaterial losses because of the fake goods. According to Marsudi, the consumers who were first harmed by the counterfeiting of the pen brand were consumers.
"If those who care, they report to us, we will make compensation. The biggest form of our loss, consumers will switch to other brands," said Marsudi.
After Marsudi reported BS, only then did he find out that the suspect had been taking goods from importers.
"After it was developed, it turned out that he took it from the importer. Now the case is at the investigation stage and has been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office," said Marsudi.
Marsudi explained, the case of brand counterfeiting began to be known by his side when many consumers complained. After checking, it turns out that the goods complained of are of different quality or fake.
"After we find out, we inform the consumer that the goods used are fake. This person has a purchase receipt, then we make a police report," he said.
This incident, continued Marsudi, was not new to him. In 2010, his party also found the same case, the existence of counterfeit goods circulating in the community.
"Currently, what we report is a wholesale store in Bekasi, because consumers buy there. The police have also carried out raids and proved it," he said.
Currently, the suspect BS has been detained by the Prosecutor at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Rutan.
