BLBI Task Force Seizes Assets Of Tycoon Kaharudin Ongko In Surabaya Rp630 Billion: Debts Rp7.8 Trillion
JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling State Claims for the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Fund (BLBI) today was found to have confiscated the assets of a debtor on behalf of Kaharudin Ongko who owed the state more than Rp7.8 trillion.
The chairman of the BLBI Task Force, Rionald Silaban, in his statement stated that Kaharudin Ongko is an obligor for the PKPS (Shareholder Obligation Settlement) of National Commercial Banks.
“The confiscated assets are land with an area of 31,530 square meters located on Jalan Jagir Wonokromo, Kel. Jagir, district. Wonokromo, Surabaya City," he said on Wednesday, February 23.
According to Rionald, the assets are collateral from the person concerned in the context of settling the obligations of shareholders to the government.
"The confiscation was carried out as part of the State's efforts to recover BLBI funds that had been disbursed to the National Commercial Bank," he said.
Furthermore, Rionald explained that the assets of obligor Kaharudin Ongko which had been confiscated would be continued with the management process through the PUPN mechanism, namely by conducting an open sale (auction) and/or other settlements.
Meanwhile, currently, the assessment team from the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) is still conducting an assessment process on the value of this collateral asset. However, the estimated market value of the 31,530 square asset is IDR 630 billion.
"Meanwhile, parties who are currently carrying out business activities at the asset location can still carry out their business activities until further management is carried out by the BLBI Task Force," said Rionald.
For information, all BLBI Task Force activities are a form of synergy between ministries and related institutions, including the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, the Attorney General's Office, the National Police (Bareskrim, Polda, and local Polrestabes), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ministry of ATR/BPN, Ministry of Home Affairs, BPKP, BIN, and PPATK.
"The BLBI Task Force will continue to make ongoing efforts to ensure the return of state collection rights through a series of efforts such as blocking, confiscation, and selling assets that are collateral goods and assets owned by obligors/debtors who have received BLBI funds," concluded Rionald. .
