Soybeans Reach Rp. 18 Thousand Per Kilogram, Tofu And Tempe Traders Are Not Seen In 7 Markets In Central Jakarta
JAKARTA - Head of the Central Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-dept., Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti, said traders in seven markets in Central Jakarta did not sell tofu and tempeh due to the high price of soybeans, which reached Rp. 18,000 per kilogram.
"Earlier, we monitored 7 markets. As a result, many traders did not sell tofu and tempeh," said Penty to reporters, Tuesday, February 22.
Penty also said that his party immediately took action when they learned that a number of tofu and tempeh craftsmen had gone on strike.
Traders will go on strike until Wednesday 23 February 2022, tomorrow.
"I met with the head of the market, they said that the information traders will not sell until tomorrow," he said.
Penty said the KPKP Sub-dept. had carried out monitoring in seven markets including, Palmerah Market, Kebon Melati, Blok G Tanah Abang, Lontar, Gembrong and Johar Baru. Of the seven markets, not a single trader sells tofu and tempeh.
"Only the Palmerah and Tanah Abang markets are available, selling tofu and tempeh. But that's just the raw material for soybeans," he said.
From the monitoring results, the price of soybeans in the Palmerah market is sold at Rp. 18,000 per kilogram and at the Tanah Abang market at Rp. 15,000 per kilogram.
