COVID-19 Update As Of February 18: New Cases 59,635, Active Cases 496,383

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 501,627 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 59,635 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 5,089,637 people and active cases have increased by 24,622 to 312,808 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Friday, February 18.

Today's recovered cases increased by 32,904 cases, bringing the total to 4,447,210 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 216 people and a total of 146,044 people.

The province with the newest cases was in West Java with 13,780 cases and a total of 900,911 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 8,189 new cases with a total of 1,112,078 cases. East Java has 8,037 new cases and a total of 477,145 cases. Central Java has 5,905 new cases and a total of 529,933 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 11,760 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 5,684 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 4,327 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 3,878 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 80,079,360.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 16.04 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 42,632 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 189,307,384 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 139,140,467 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 8,011,770. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
