Minister Of Home Affairs Asks Regional Governments To Support IKN Nusantara To Seize Investor Opportunities

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked local governments around the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago to take advantage of opportunities to attract investors.

The Minister of Home Affairs requested that the regional government prepare a grand design that contains a builder's plan, whether it is not short, medium, or long according to the needs of each region.

"For example, building an enclave in North Penajam Paser, where there is a one-stop service, there is a restaurant, there is a mall, there is an attractive (and) environmentally friendly lodging place, so people who want to go to IKN go there," said the Minister of Home Affairs, quoted by Antara, Thursday, 17 February.

The Minister of Home Affairs said that efforts to attract investors need to be carried out by the local government, in addition to the central government also assisting development in the area around IKN.

This includes support for the provision of electricity networks, road infrastructure, and other needs. However, the local government also still needs to create a system that is able to attract investors.

The message was conveyed by the Minister of Home Affairs after listening to the aspirations of the participants of the coordination meeting regarding their hopes that the central government will continue to pay attention to the surrounding area when the construction of the Nusantara IKN takes place.

"We who are on the outskirts are also assisted so that the construction is not incomplete, something like that," said the Minister of Home Affairs, imitating the aspirations of the participants.

The Minister of Home Affairs emphasized the importance of having investors to support regional development. He believes that investors will see the various potential opportunities that exist in IKN.

The Minister of Home Affairs predicts that many investors will enter the area around IKN such as North Penajam Paser Regency, Samarinda City, and other surrounding areas.

He imagines that the area around IKN will be visited by various parties, both for government and private affairs, including guests from various countries. The Minister of Home Affairs believes that IKN development will have a good impact on economic growth and development in East Kalimantan.

"Everyone will have an interest in coming here to the State Capital, so the impact is extraordinary," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
