Caste Down To Europa League, Barcelona Ridiculed Zenith Can Only Listen To The Opening Song Of The Champions League
JAKARTA - The Champions League title is back after a two-month holiday. However, when the Champions League re-started the competition for the round of 16, Barcelona actually got the sap.
The round of 16 of the Champions League begins on Wednesday, February 16 in the early hours of the morning. The meeting between PSG vs Real Madrid and Sporting CP vs Manchester City was the opening match.
It was ahead of the opening match that Barcelona was ridiculed because they could only hear the opening song of the Champions League. The joke was made by Zenit St. Petersburg, Russian club.
Through his official Twitter account, Zenith uploaded a video meme featuring a man marked as Barcelona. In the video, the man can only be seen watching the Champions League opening song on the monitor screen, while a person suddenly appears behind him, marked as Zenit.
Through the video description, Zenit also didn't forget to tag the official Barcelona account, @FCBarcelona while attaching a mocking emoji and the UEL hashtag.
Zenit made a mockery of Barca because Xavi Hernandez's team failed to advance to the last 16 of the Champions League. Memphis Depay et al could not compete with Bayern Munich and Benfica in the group phase.
In the Champions League group phase, Barcelona only finished third in Group E. Barcelona had 3 defeats, one draw and two wins. That moment made them only able to collect 7 points and the lowest between Bayern Munich (18) and Benfica (8).

Having failed to compete, Barcelona then could only continue their journey in the Europa League. In that competition, Barcelona will face Napoli, who is the representative of the Italian League.
Barcelona versus Napoli in the playoffs of the knockout phase of the Europa League will be held on February 18 and February 25 to determine which club will qualify for the round of 16.
