Queen Elizabeth Says She Can't Move
JAKARTA - Queen Elizabeth, who is leaning on a cane, joked that she couldn't move while conversing with members of the royal household as she held another meeting since her son, Prince Charles, tested positive for COVID-19.
Charles, heir to the throne, last week canceled activities after contracting the coronavirus for the second time. Palace sources said Queen Elizabeth was asymptomatic, but her condition was being monitored.
On Tuesday, the queen met virtually with the new ambassadors from Estonia and Spain via vidoelink, and the following day the palace said she met both the old and new Secretary of Defense Services at Windsor Castle.
Quoted from the video, the queen who was standing with the help of a stick chuckled and said, "Oh, I am here,".
When asked how she was, the Queen replied, "Yes, as you can see, I can't move." Quoted from ANTARA, he gestured to his feet before stepping forward and greeting the people.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the joke. Palace sources said Queen Elizabeth was feeling a bit stiff, not injured or unwell. The health of the world's oldest and longest-serving monarch has been in the spotlight since he spent a night in hospital in October and was advised by his doctors to rest.
Last week, palace sources said Queen Elizabeth, who this month marks 70 years on the throne, would return to normal activities.
