JAKARTA – The women's singles badminton player, Putri Kusuma Wardani, felt much more comfortable when she helped Indonesia win 5-0 over Kazakhstan in the second match of Group Z of the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships.

Putri, who was trusted to play her first duel in the party, won in straight sets 21-8, 21-7 over Aisha Zhumabek at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, on Wednesday, February 16.

This is the second victory for women in the championship. Previously, he also contributed points for Merah Putih when he played against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

"I played better today. I am more comfortable and no longer tense like yesterday against Hong Kong," said Putri in an official statement received

In the match against Kazakhstan the coaching team decided to make changes to the women's singles sector. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Stephanie Widjaja were kept as a substitute for Bilqis Prasista with Saifi Rizka Nurhidayah who was sent to accompany Putri.

Bilqis and Saifi, who were trusted, also succeeded in proving themselves by contributing points for the team. Bilqis scored a victory over Kamila Smagulova, while Saifi, who appeared in the third party, defeated Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva.

"I was also nervous because this was my first time competing. From this match, I could feel that I was getting a different experience compared to playing individually. It takes a stronger mentality to play in teams," said Bilqis.

Meanwhile, the other two points for Indonesia were presented by the women's doubles, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi and Lanni Tria Mayasari/Jesita Putri Miantoro.

Febri/Amalia won over Arina Sazonova/Aisha Zhumabek, while Lanny/Jesita beat the pair Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva/Kamila Smagulova.

Victory over Kazakhstan automatically brought Indonesia to win tickets to the semifinals. However, Indonesia still has to face a tough match against South Korea on Thursday, February 17 tomorrow.

The final match of Group Z's elimination against Korea will determine which team has the right to win the group.
