East Java Governor Khofifah Gives Compensation To Families Of Victims Of The Payangan Beach Ritual

JEMBER - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa provided compensation to the families of the victims who died while performing a ritual at Payangan Beach, Jember Regency which was held at the Wahyawibawagraha Pendapa Jember.

"I convey my deep condolences to the victim's family and pray that the victim dies husnul khotimah," he said in front of the victim's family who were present at the Wahyawibawagraha Pendapa Jember as reported by Antara, Monday, February 14.

The ritual activity of the Tunggal Jati Nusantara Group at Payangan Beach, Jember, was disastrous by killing 11 people, two of whom were husband and wife.

"We are here to convey the compensation because actually it is a tribute to the families of the victims. Because of the sea accident, the East Java Provincial Government has given compensation for the families of the heirs of Rp. 10 million each," he said.

Khofifah also advised people who want their hearts to be calm, they can pray to the Almighty and not to others.

"If you want your heart to be calm in remembrance, then look for a safe place and follow the scholars, especially in Islamic boarding schools and mosques. So God willing, the remembrance will be solemn and guided in a safe place," he said.

In addition to providing compensation, the Governor of East Java also immediately read tahlil and prayed together to pray for the deceased and the deceased who were victims of the death ritual at Payangan Beach, Jember.

Previously, the Solo Jati Nusantara Group group of 24 people including the driver left for Payangan Beach, Sumberejo Village, Ambulu District on Saturday, February 12 evening.

After arriving at Payangan Beach in the early hours of Sunday, February 13, 20 people held a ritual bathing in the sea water of Payangan Beach, while four other people consisting of the driver, one toddler, and group leader Nurhasan and one elderly were on board.

When the ritual only lasted for an hour, suddenly the big waves of the southern sea hit the Tunggal Jati Nusantara Group who were holding hands while carrying out ritual activities on the beach.

The SAR team found that 11 people died and nine people survived the ritual, while the four people above also survived, bringing the total survivors to 13 people.
