4 Suspected Terrorists Arrested in Central Java Members of Jamaah Islamiyah

JAKARTA - Four suspected terrorists who were arrested by the Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police, are members of the terror group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI).

"The National Police in this case Densus 88 Anti-terror, carried out law enforcement against 4 members of the JI group, on February 14, 2022, in Central Java," said Head of Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, quoted by Antara on Monday, February 14.

The four suspected terrorists had the initials, RAB, AJ, NU, and M.

Ramadhan on that occasion did not explain in detail the roles of the four Central Java JI terrorist members so that law enforcement was carried out.

Earlier, on the same day, the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Commissioner Iqbal Alqudusy, had conveyed that the four suspected terrorists were arrested in several areas in Central Java, namely Batang, Sragen and Sukoharjo regencies.

Law enforcement against the JI terrorism group was also carried out by the National Police Anti-terror Detachment 88 on Thursday, February 10, arresting three suspects, each with the initials CA, M, and R.

The suspect CA is known to be the head of JI's Bengkulu branch, actively recruiting members including recruiting suspects M and R.

Then on Monday, January 31, the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 also arrested two suspected terrorists belonging to the JI group in the Tapanuli area, North Sumatra.
