Sandiaga Uno Reveals The Fact That Fashion Can Become A Creative Economy Trend

JAKARTA - Do not underestimate the weaving industry sector. One of the derivatives of this creative industry is believed to be the locomotive of the Indonesian economy.

This fact was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno during a visit to the National Adiwastra Exhibition held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Sunday, February 13, as seen from his Twitter account.

In uploading videos on his personal social media, said Sandiaga Uno, donations from the fashion and crafts sub-sector each year give a pretty proud percentage.

“An average of 18% every year. And that's 15% of the total GDP of the creative economy," said Sandiaga Uno.

This certainly has a good impact on economic growth. In fact, continued Sandiaga Uno, the fashion and crafts sub-sector can become a pulling engine for the nation's economy.

"This is the locomotive for the revival of the national economy, by participating in empowering MSME actors and regional craftsmen. Of course it creates a lot of jobs," he added.

On the same occasion, Sandiaga Uno was welcomed by craftsmen and weaving entrepreneurs. One of them is from Toba Tenun, a weaving brand from PT Toba Tenun Sejahtera which produces quality woven products at a price of millions of rupiah.

The Toba Weaving craftsmen also wanted to invite Sandiaga Uno to visit Medan, to see how their business was developing.
