West Jakarta City Government Limits City Park Visitors, Maximum 25 Percent

JAKARTA – To reduce the number of cases of the third wave of COVID-19, the City Government (Pemkot) of West Jakarta (Jakbar) has imposed restrictions on the number of park visitors.

Head of the City Parks and Forests Sub-department, West Jakarta, Djauhar Arifien, said visitors were a maximum of 25 percent of the park's capacity during the implementation of level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"The maximum number of visitors to the park is 25 percent, and children under 12 years old must bring proof of at least the first dose of vaccination," said Djauhar Arifien, quoting Antara, Friday, February 11.

According to Djauhar, the regulation is contained in the Decree of the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forests Office number 21 of 2022 concerning the Utilization of Green Spaces, Parks, Green Lanes, City Forests, Nurseries, Ragunan Wildlife Parks, and Restrictions on Activities in Public Cemetery Parks. Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions.

The decree also stipulates the obligation of visitors to apply health protocols such as wearing masks to maintaining a distance in the park.

Officers are also required to guard the front door of the park while checking the body temperature of every visitor.

Djauhar added, these regulations must be implemented to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in the park.

"We are trying to prevent the spread and anticipate the presence of a COVID-19 cluster in the park," he said.

Djauhar hopes that by implementing these regulations, it can reduce the number of COVID-19 spreads.

In the Decree, attached are 17 parks that are subject to restrictions on the number of visitors:
