MATARAM - A total of three large ships sent from the National Police Headquarters are now on standby in the waters of Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to support the security of the 2022 MotoGP racing event at the Mandalika Circuit.
"So, three large ships from the National Police Headquarters, which are under the control of the Polairud Corps, arrived in Lombok to help secure MotoGP in the waters", said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, in Mataram, quoted by Antara on Friday, February 11.
The three security support facilities for the world-class racing event are on standby together with an AW-169 helicopter unit that routinely conducts air patrols, especially around the Mandalika Circuit area.
In securing the MotoGP event, which is now in the pre-season test stage, Artanto ensured that his party had built coordination with other security authorities, be it with the Navy, Air Force, ASDP, KSOP, Basarnas, and also Angkasa Pura.

Even as a form of maturity of security coordination, the National Police together with other security authorities often hold limited meetings to carry out security simulations in water areas.
Therefore, regarding issues related to security or that could interfere with the course of the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit, he made sure it was included in the security anticipation record.
"Active monitoring and escort, in essence, has been supported by a fairly large number of personnel, not to mention the addition of other security support facilities, we think it is part of a joint effort to make the event a success", he said.
